Hello. My name is Kale Davis and this is my little spot on the Internet.

After five years of systems/operations work in IT, I have finally found something that I want to specialize in for a while: SharePoint. Since April of 2005 I have been working at my present company as their SharePoint Developer. I wear a lot of hats from evangelist to developer, and each day I try to find out to make SharePoint work with various groups and projects.  It’s almost like solving a puzzle each day.

The main purpose of this blog is to start writing about these experiences along with some other things I find interesting and important like open source technologies, general web development, Perl, and my favorite tool of all time Vim.  Lately I have also been pulled towards Ruby and Rails, and look forward to working with them more.

My family and I live in Anchorage, Alaska and have been up here since 2003.  Although the winters can be long and dark (I’m writing this two days after the winter solstice, so we have 5 hours and 27 minutes of light now, but at least we are gaining), the summers more than make up for it.
